We take long URLs, and we make them shortner, suitable for use in places where characters are at a premium (such as Twitter, or in chat rooms where pasting long URLs can annoy people).

Terms of Service

You are welcome to post links to any site, with the following restrictions: Links used to spam people (both on websites and via email), links that go to phishing sites or malicious sites containing viruses, malware, or other bad content, and links that go to sites containing content that is illegal in the US will all be removed. Chaining redirects together (i.e., making a short URL that goes to another short URL, on this site or elsewhere) is also not allowed.

We reserve the right to remove any URL at any time, for any reason. We also reserve the right to change the long URL which your link points to if we determine that it falls under the categories for removal discussed in the previous paragraph.

Privacy Policy

No personally identifying information is ever collected or stored by fizl.us. However, by using the service you give us permission to store the original long URL for any links you create as well as your computer's IP address; this allows us to track and block abuse of the site. We may also collect data about use of the links you create (including the IP addresses of anyone that accesses your short URL). None of this usage data is currently made public, though we reserve the right to make basic usage statistics (without the IP addresses) available to users in the future.

We do not share any information with third parties except for those that help us with the prevention of abuse. This consists of submitting your IP address and any URLs you submit to third-party blacklist databases.

URLs shortened by fizl.us are not private. They may be easily guessed - please do not assume they are secure!
